Lea Liu‘s Relevant Experience as an
I came in touch with UI/UX design when I first learned about website development back in 2003. At that time, I would first get to know my target users. It is important to figure out what their interests are, what they expect to see, what their browsing orders are, and what they pay most attention to. Then I would design around this information I gathered, such as making sure the layout of the UI convey its primary functionality, adjusting the ordering of elements for the ease of access, or providing buttons at the convenient spots. After the design comes out, I would test it with anyone I can find to make sure my assumptions are right.
This was the first website I developed back in 2003.
Afterward, I have joined various game development projects as an artist and visual designer. In small teams, I am usually the only one who works on the UI. My past design experience and training have helped me be in the shoes of the players, making use the visual elements of color, layout, spacing, etc.
When I worked on Tian Long Ba Bu —— an MMORPG in the big corporation of Changyou, I have designed a great amount of icons and UIs, which improved my operational skills on designing and drawing UI elements.
